Hong Kong investors on 3-day visit | Bangkok Post: news

Thailand welcomed a group of prominent investors from Hong Kong who kicked off a three-day visit Sunday to discuss economic and investment opportunities with a clear focus on the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The 50-member delegation led by Vincent Lo, chairman of Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will today participate in a seminar on "Thailand-Hong Kong-Shanghai Strategic Partnership on One Belt One Road". The three-day visit by the Hong Kong business community came shortly after a recent visit to Hong Kong by Mr Somkid to foster economic cooperation. Mr Somkid said the government has realised the significance of Hong Kong following his visit last month to the territory and has seen the need for authorities to speed up polices to encourage Thai investors to widen their businesses and diversify trade cooperation with Hong Kong. If it succeeds, Asean will be comprehensively linked with southern China, making Thailand and Hong Kong centres of connections, a win-win for both Thailand and China.
